During this time of crisis when it is not possible to physically receive Holy Communion
the Church has the practise of spiritual communion. This is possible by participating in
Mass via the various outlets available to us- Parish Livestream, Parish Radio link,

Celebration of Confirmation, First Holy Communion and First Penance
Because of the lockdown the celebration of these sacraments was postponed.
This was obviously a big disappointment for the children, their parents and teachers.
However, all have shown tremendous understanding and patience, especially theconfirmation children whose ceremony was called off just 24 hours before it
was due to take place.
In the meantime, Bishop Duffy has given permission for Parish Priests throughoutthe Diocese to confer confirmation in their own parishes.
So, the dates and timesfor all three SACRAMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Confirmation: Friday 11th September at 6.00pm in St Joseph’s
First Confession: Tuesday 15th September at 7.30pm in St Joseph’s
First Holy Communion: Saturday 19th September at 11.00am in St Joseph’s
From 29th June Churches have been able to re-open for limited public worship. In order for this to continue to happen we are going to need more help
with cleaning the churches after each gathering and
with stewarding and ushering as the
2 metre rule regarding social distancing still applies. We cannot safely open unless a sufficient number of volunteers are willing
